Default Tranny problems

My tranny is acting up in my 97 f150 with the 4.6l v 4r70w tranny. When the motor gets over 3000 rpm pretty much its like free loaded. the motor revs but the tranny doesnt engange. could my torque convertor be crap

Try changing the fluid? Have you ever? I been doing quite a bit of work on my transmission. Had shudder going from 1st to 2nd. Changing the fluid fixed alot of it..

Likely slippage in the forward clutch. Changing the fluid can't hurt at this point-it might be worth a try. But more than likely it'll need to be overhauled.

A fluid change at the point will be the final killer of the forward clutch. Time for a overhaul.
