Default tranny problem

I have two problems with my transmission in my 1998 f150 with 4r70w transmission one problem is the 1-2 upshift it won't up**** until about 3000rpms and it is pretty harsh unless I let off the gas and it will upshift pretty smooth the other problem is downshifting from 3-2 with wide open throttle the engine just revs all the way to redline it almost seems like the transmission shifts into neutral I have heard the 1-2 accumulator are known to wear premature would this cause both problems
any help would be great
thanx

accumulator, valve body issue or vehicle speed sensor could be an issue do you have any DTC's? a typical obdII scanner wont tell you everything that a ford scanner would so you may have something stored in the history. my transmission which is the e40d or 4r100 one of the 2 had a shifting problem and i had a VSS code and ended up spending like 8 bucks on a new speedometer gear and installed it and it fixed the problem once i cleared the code.
