Unhappy Tranny not shifting

When you start the truck and start driving, one minute later it stops shifting. It tops out and 20 unless I push the engine. There is no noise from the transmission and there are no shavings. It's very clean. We replaced the fluid twice, and put a new filter in. I have unplugged wires and blew into the with an air hose to clean them up. I think it's a sensor or the computer not telling the transmission to shift. What do you think is wrong? How can I fix it?

Haha! Thought about it! But I'd rather fix this one than drop a new one in... and have to cut a hole.

Changed filter the other day. Fluid level is perfect. No leaks whatsoever. I don't think it's transmission problem. The speedometer doesn't go crazy, so it's not the 2nd speed sensor. But I notice that the rpm's twitch. Would the TPS cause this? What about TRS? 1st speed sensor? I really don't want to have to rebuild the tranny.... we just put 5000 buck into it dropping a new engine in... haha!

I start her up and drive it for for about 1 minute. The transmission shifts, although it seems like it has to try hard to shift. Then it will suddenly downshift to 1 and the rpm's go up. If I let the truck sit (still running) for about 5 minutes I can drive it again but after 1 minute it does the same thing. The light came on the other day when the rpm's when up to like 4500 or so. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and then the engine light came on again earlier. But the truck was in the shop and I drove it about 30 feet and it came on. I'm having codes read on Saturday.

Nevermind. haha! When I pulled the old engine out, the tranny came with it. I emptied all the fluid out of the converter. Would this have anything to do with it? or does the transmission pump as much fluid in it as it need? So a bad converter?
