Your atf never goes thru your radiator, don't know what you mean there. its a separate cooler. but anyways usually the stock tranny cooler will do fine if you have it. You could probably mount up a bigger cooler if you wanted, but i don't see why you'd need bigger lines cause the inlet and outlet size on the tranny will still be the same anyways.

^no, it doesn't. It goes thru the cooler that is attached to the radiator. It can't go thru the radiator cause that would be mixing ATF and coolant in your tranny and in your engine, which would be very very bad.

Just so you have it straightened out that they are two totally separate things. So yes you can upgrade the cooler if you want cause it has nothing to do with the radiator.

yes I know they dont mix but the line runs to the rad then the cooler my question is does it need to go to the rad first? or can I just add a larger cooler and skip the rad?

to answer your question the way you have it, yes you can just put on a larger cooler and skip the radiator.

But seriously how the hell would the atf cooler line be connected to the radiator without them mixing? I have never seen this on any vehicle ever, they are all completely separate.

see the two fittings, there is a pipe inside that the atf runs through and then it goes to the cooler on the front o the rad
