Default trak-loc question

I already posted this but bear with me. I got rid of my open carrier and replaced it with Ford's Trak-loc carrier. Most of the time it hooks up fine but sporadically only transfers power to one wheel. I ease the brakes on and it'll bite on both wheels. I have heard Ford will deliberately stagger the cluch and steel plates incorrectly from the factory for more "slip". Anyone else ever encounter this?? Thanks in advance.

I used to have an open in this vehicle and replaced it with a Ford Trak-Loc limited slip. IMO the LSD is a big step up from the open but if I wanted only power to one wheel I would have saved the money and kept my open LOL
