Would that really make a considerable difference?

Anyone pull a 4900 lb car on an open car trailer? (maybe, what, 7540 lb total?) Considering renting a trailer to tow my 72 Buick with my 03 FX4 4x4 5.4L automatic across the state and back for a show. Suppose I'd need an equalizer hitch and trailer brakes too.......

Youd feel a difference because its essentially positive rear end but whats great is it collapses in turns like a normal differential, iv heard some people not recommend it for towing. It only works in open differintials though so if its limited slip you cant use it. i tow cars up to the size of a 65 power wagon with it myself. no problems but no promises eithr. some people do it and twist the threading on there axles. im just careful

unless you have a tire spinning there will be no difference, a locker simply locks up and provides the power split equally between the two tires. it does not magically add Hp or torque.

changing the ring adn pinion is the single most effect mod for these models of the F150 for towing and acceleration.

I would so it's the most effective mod to any underpowered vehicle

Those 35" tires are REALLY not helping you.

Combine that with the little 4.6l and your gonna have a bad time.

You need to regear

I have to retract my original post. I towed my atvs again for the second time and have to say I noticed a completely different truck. Not shifting out of overdrive over the previous passes before hand. Although I did lower my speed from 70-75 down to 55-60 which played a big part of that. Was very impressed and pleased with my 5.4 triton

I have pulled my brother in laws half ton chevy on an open car trailer with my 02 4x4 screw FX4. It was plenty but I didn't have a stabilizer hitch. Now I pull my 6,000 lb travel trailer with it, and I do have a stabilizer hitch (makes a world of difference). Pulls like a half ton pulling 6,000 lbs. I can maintain 60 mph pretty easily but much more and it starts down shifting a lot.
