What is your opinion of the SCT livewire?

SCT is the only way to go with a tunner. Changing to 4.10's would completely change your mind about the low end torque of the 5.4

I like the livewire a lot but am looking forward to getting some custom tunes after I make some exhaust changes. Like ibd said gears would be nice, I have installed 285/70/17s and would eventually like to go with 4:10s. Then again I'd also like to do a L swap and get a built trans and lockers. Damn lotto numbers just won't cooperate.

It's sounds like some people expect the 5.4 to pull like a turbo diesel and not have to work to get upgrade.

Not trying to steal a thread but will a super duty trans cooler bolt right up to where the stock one mounts and just hook everything right back up?

I don't expect it to pull like a diesel however I expected to be pulling roughly the same as my 5.7 vortec

No the larger trans cooler doesn't bolt in the same place. I installed mine with the zip connectors thru the condenser but am planning to build some brackets with metal strips.

yea your 5.4s are like the heavyweight champions so to speak, y'all pull 280-300 somethin horsepower at the wheel and we 4.6s carry more like 190 at the wheel and diesel vs. gas towing just isn't comparable lol.

of course you could get a Spartan locker and get a lot more power because then both wheels receive power rather than 1.

The 5.4 is rated for 260/350 at the crank brand new. So we are probably give or take some 180/ 280 to the wheels. The 4.6 is 220/290 I think so it's probably 140/220ish to the wheels. This is all estimate on 4x4 trucks some trucks will be a lot less some a little more.
