Triton, thats my big issue with driving a 1/2 ton. I hate the tire flex and the spoungy feeling. I run my fronts at the max, and the rears about 5-10psi less when empty just to make them wear a little more even. The amount of tire flex is one of the things I hate the most about 1/2 ton trucks. Have fixed it quite a bit with my '98, stuck some Hankook Dynapro ATM's on and they are far stiffer feeling/riding than the coopers that were on before. They are a little higher rated, but still not 3/4-1 ton sorta pressures. The price, and the recommended air pressure has kept me from putting HD pickup tires on a 1/2 ton. May be a stupid question to some, but what are the ratings on these rims? Can they safely hold on to 80psi tires?

Ah...just looked up the build, maybe someone else will run across this and can answer that one??? I'm really curious since the weight rating drops like 1k going from alum 17"-18" makes me wonder that if they can't handle the weight, maybe they can't handle a stiffer higher pressure tire either.
