Ok so I am going to be getting a Jon boat soon, probably something in the 14 foot range. I remember reading somewhere that you can really mess up your truck if you tow with a tune that wasn't ment for towing. Is this correct? If so does a boat and trailer that small even weigh enough to be harmful? Right now I have an 87 perf/chill, a 89 and 93 perf/street. Should I go ahead and get a towing tune if I get the boat? Going back to the stock tune really isn't an option because of my rear o2 and cat delete as well as bigger tires

Thanks

I would think you'd be fine as long as it's just a plain Jane Jon boat. They are light enough you probably won't even notice it behind the truck.

Job #1: Contact them ASAP and ask. You can PM that nice, friendly Mike feller Rep on here; handle = MorePowerTuning.

Some tunes do allow a minimal amount of towing latitude - but you need to confirm that yours do.

You'll be ok. Just make sure that the speedo is corrected for larger tires sizes. That way the transmission will shift when needed.

So, should I get a towing tune if I plan to tow a 16ft 6in lund aluminum boat with a 90hp 2 stroke? I do plan on getting tunes just not sure if I need a towing tune in specific?
