Well a guy pulled out in front of my Pops last night, hit the guy going 60 mph and as you can imagine totalled the truck. Pretty heavy damage on the front end of the truck, and the rear side of the truck at the tail light from the other vehicle spinning and tagging him. I will post of pics in a few minutes, but my biggest concern is the airbag did not deploy!!! Any words?

It depends on where the impact came from. If it was a front-side impact, there would be no need for the airbags. The impact sensors are mounted in the front end to prevent injury when kinetic motion keeps you body going in the event of a frontal collision. If the imact was from the side, the airbags would be useless. Now... If these trucks had side curtain airbags, they may have deployed from the impact but again, it depends on where the impact was and if anyone were sitting in that seat.

Sorry about the truck, looks like all that road salt does wonders for your vehicles up there.

Air bags have hundreds of diffrent processes running through them at all times. If any one of them goes down they often wont deploy. The old man runs a collision center and brand new week old models somethime won't even deploy. He told me awhile back that alot if times when this happens the manufacture will send someone in to take or scan the blackbox and they will never tell him what actually went wrong. makes you feel safe doesn't it.
