Default Torsion Keys?

So since I am new to this generation truck, I have been doing a little research on what kind of lifts to get. I really don't want anything significant but more or less to lift the truck higher off the 33's I intend on getting soon.

I have noticed in our era trucks, there are no real leveling kits like there was for my 2005. I have found a few "torsion keys" but I want to know more about them. What are they? How do they work? How far will/can they raise up the truck?

I have a buddy with a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 with front torsion bars cranked and he is forever breaking/bending right inner tie rods. I really don't wanna get into a spot like that so if this part will increase that likelyhood, I will explore other avenues.

Thanks in advance.

lenn. do not buy the torsion bar keys. cranking the stock keys is the same as getting the keys. the only difference is with the keys you have more bolt to crank which doesnt matter because if you crank the stock torsion bars thats the max height you wanna go so you dont bottom out the uca on the bump stop and also for the CV shaft angle. basically the keys are a waste of money. theres quite a few people on here that have said they sort of regret getting keys just cuz its like throwing money out the window like a TB spacer haha

So how do you go about doing this? Can you take a pic of the bolt you adjust? Are there bolts on both sides of the truck? If so, how do you guarantee that you are lifting both sides evenly? Can I get enough out of them to get another 2-3" out of the rear and have the truck level (I guess that would make the front about 4" higher)?

Sorry for so many questions, I wanna make sure I do this right.

well i have 4" blocks total in mine and i cranked the t bars all the way. the stock blocks are 2 inches so it raises the rear 2 and the front about 3? cuz the front is pretty much level. i have pics of just the torsion bars cranked and my 35s if you want to look and ill get u a pic in a few. just measure the top of the fender to the ground on both sides and adjust accordingly till its level

edit heres the link to a picture

and to the person above me. really? if i cranked my keys any further the UCA would be resting on the bump stop
