What is wrong that you feel you need to replace it?

It started flashing on shift points. Then got noisy under load. Now it makes noise idling and has no pulling power

The reason I ask is, a lot of times when the converter fails, other things fail with it.

Understood, I can definitely hear it from the converter. So figured I'd go from there first. Hoping nothing else is screwed. Thanks

Book time is 7.2 hours for trans R&R and .2 more to swap the convertor. This is considering a lift, trans jacks etc. You can consider more like 10 hours on the floor to do this at the minimum. It's a full transmission removal and reinstall. This is one part that can't be shortcutted on work time.

At least you are working with a 4r70 trans, so the weight is much less than the E40D or 4R100.

What kind of noise? Wondering if you actually have a flex plate issue.

I don't think so. Doesn't pull anymore either.
