You need the bluetooth to plug into your OBD II port so it can transmit the data to your phone.

the bluetooth transmitter i bought off ebay was like 12 bucks and it works fine. i go out and turn on my tab (i leave the transmitter plugged in all the time) and fire up the torque app and by the time i plug in my tabs power and earphone to head unit jack the transmitter is connected.

The dongle I bought on eBay has lasted for a couple of years, so far, going back and forth between my truck and my Mustang, and whoever else needs a code cleared.

For you iPhone queers, there's an app called Dynolicious that does the same stuff. It's not free, though.

I'm interested. Is the $4.95 a one time fee or a monthly fee and Is there a usb cable so I don't have to worry about connecting to bluetooth all the time?
