Default Tire Upgrade

Howdy
Got a '02 2 wheel drive F-150 extended cab. The tire size l is 235/70-R16. Any problem to go to a 235/85-R16? Want to go to Cooper STT . Dunno if the wider tire could rub on anything..... Thanks

Hi, that tire will be the same width, just taller because the sidewall aspect ratio is taller.

Here's something for you to review to help on the decision.

Sorry, but I wanted to include the URL for the info I quoted:

https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Try out some different sizes to see what works for you

Thanks for this info....I'm confused on height and width.... ha ha. I appreciate the help. Guess this size tire will be ok.

Your speedo will be off and you will accelerate slower, though.

Yep.....I think I better stick with the size I got now...the stock size. The tire I was looking at is an offroad tire for the most part....(I think)...and it would be noisy on the hiway. I ain't bad about going offroad in my truck if I can help it.

And you might save gas... depends on what your driving demands.
