Default Tire Size Question

Has anybody put 285/75/16's on a '97 F150? My engine is a Triton 5.4L, I don't think that is critical though.
I have an opportunity to get some really nice tires off of a truck that blew an engine. I want to make sure there are no problems though.
I have 255's now. My father-in-law has 265's and they pretty well take up the wheel well.
Comments, please.

Ah, crap, I forgot to say that it's 2 wheel drive.
Farm boy23, I figured that would happen. Like I told the guy that has the tires for sell, I won't be driven that fast anyway.
Is yours 4x2?

Is your truck sittin stock other than the t bars? I'm puttin these tires on soon and plan to just do a leveling kit if that'll work

My rear has 1 or 2 extra leaf springs. So, it's already a little higher. Of course the front is what I worry about most anyway.
Not sure how much a leveling kit costs, but I'm not sure I wanna do that just to get these tires.

I cant remember if 2wd trucks have torsion bars or not but I know they have the coils springs you could buy a spacer which everybody on here doesnt like too much or do a spindle lift
