Tire Size Question
Has anybody put 285/75/16's on a '97 F150? My engine is a Triton 5.4L, I don't think that is critical though.
I have an opportunity to get some really nice tires off of a truck that blew an engine. I want to make sure there are no problems though.
I have 255's now. My father-in-law has 265's and they pretty well take up the wheel well.
Comments, please.

Thats what im runnin on mine and mine is the exact same truck but ready for mileage to go down I know alot of folks say it dont but it did for me and you might need to crank the torsion bars a little cause I did
Is your truck sittin stock other than the t bars? I'm puttin these tires on soon and plan to just do a leveling kit if that'll work

Ive got the aftermarket keys and tbars cranked ive had that for 3 years and no problems but im getting a AAL put on today just cause my rear springs have sagged but to answer youre question yes itll work you can even squeeze 35s in there as stated in the link tackle posted
My rear has 1 or 2 extra leaf springs. So, it's already a little higher. Of course the front is what I worry about most anyway.
Not sure how much a leveling kit costs, but I'm not sure I wanna do that just to get these tires.

I cant remember if 2wd trucks have torsion bars or not but I know they have the coils springs you could buy a spacer which everybody on here doesnt like too much or do a spindle lift
