Default tire question about 33s

so i was wondering how is it possible to run 33s on different wheels?
like u can have a 15" wheel with 33s and a 18" wheel with 33s correct? so is that the height of the tire 33"? is a 15'' with a 33 the same height as a 18 with a 33?im confused. i want to level my truck and run 33''s because i heard they dont rub but i dont know what combination to run. if u guys can make it clear that would be cool.thanks.

Why would you run different rims? But still a 33 inch tires is a 33 inch tire to fractions of an inch, you'd be fine. Just try to keep your tire widths the same

Tire sizes have three specifications. Tread width, usually in millimeters. Aspect ratio, which is the height of the sidewall as compared to the tread with, listed as a percent and finally the rim diameter. These are the numbers you see, such as the tires I bought today are 285/70/17s so they are 285mm wide/the sidewalls are 70% of 285mm high so 213mm or 8.4 inches/17 inch rims. That adds up to a 32.8 inch tire diameter or basically a 33" tire.

To have a 33 inch tire on a 15 inch rim basically you will have a 315/75/15. 75% of 315mm is 236.25mm or 9.3 inches. Much wider and a much higher sidewall to account for the 2 inches lost by the rim.

That's all using metric, of course they make 33x12.5x15 rims but I didn't know how to show you the sidewall height difference.

Also if you have a 97+ you can't run 15s. I'm not sure about the older f150s.

33in is the outside diameter of the tire, the 15in or 18in you speak of is just the inside diameter of the tire where the rims goes. so you can have a 33in tire on 15", 16", 17", or 18", etc etc etc... wheels, I have 33s on 16s and it works for me, plenty of sidewall so you dont scratch the rims if you curb it

another reason i want to know is i plan to level my truck. i want to run mickey thomson classic II wheels and 33" tires. i dont know wat size rim to run and what size tire to run to make it 33" thats why im trying to do research on google but cant find nothing. also im trying to find out what offset to run so that it dosent rub, and i dont want the tires sticking out of the body too much. i dont want to buy all parts and be like " oh i wish i did that" or " i wish i knew that before i spent money"

Yep. 33s are 33s, 35s are 35s. The difference is the sidewall height.

so 33" is reffering to the width not height?
