Default Tire PSI???

what psi should my tires be set at? there 255/70/R16. there the correct size tire to put on, going by the door sticker. with those tires, the door sticker says 29psi cold in the front, 32 psi cold in the back.

when i put fill them up to that, they look a little low, especially in the front.

i dont drive enough to see how they wear very acurately, but it seems too low.

what do you recomend??

p.s. there goodyear wrangler silent armor a/ts

Iv personally always ran 35psi in my Buicks street tires 225/60/16s.

When i had 265/75/16s on my f150, I ran 35-40 psi.

I think you should try putting your fronts at about 32 psi. If it was my truck I would have them all at 35.

Default tire pressure

Have a '97 4.6 two wheel drive with the same tire. Have 196,000 and have always run 35# in front and maybe 32# rear without anything in back. Rotated all five (5) tires regularly and enjoyed 60-65,000 miles on them (Cooper HT). Pay attention to them and they'll do good for you.

I was wondering the same thing myself..I am going to start by putting the recommended 30 PSI front, 32 PSI rear and watch the tire wear ensuring there is even wear.
