Tinting the windshield?
So I have a black truck with 20% over stock rear tint and 5% on my 2 front windows. Which equals out to 5% front and 4% rear.
I usually roll my windows down and use mirrors down to back up but can sometimes keep them up when turning left or right. (At night)
Question is...Should I do the windshield in 35% or 50%? I don't want to waste my money and think 50 is to light, but also don't want to have a hard time driving at night or night/rain. I know its illegal but that doesn't bother me.
I have blue eyes and wear contacts so I'm going to try to get a note saying I can get dark tint, where would I go? Doctor or Eye doctor?
So I really want 35% to make my windows and front appear darker but want to make sure it won't be bad at night? I will also throw a 5% 6" strip on top of that.

Alot of people around here actually do this, it makes the truck look alot cleaner from all angles in my opinion. But anyway I would get 35% because majority of my freinds who have this on their windshields have noticed that it has faded out and has become lighter ( but not like that purple tint from Walmart fades ) due to the windshield getting more direct sunlight.
But it depends on the cops around there, most of the ones around me will not write you a ticket if you peel it off at the scene, I actually know 3 people who have done this, but I would go for it

35%.
If you aren't worried about the cops, 35%. 50% will be too light for you based on your post.
By the way; I've had 20% on my Cobra and 35% on my Escalade. Opted out and didn't do anything on the windshield for my new '12 FX4.

Hope this helps. If you need any more pics, just holler. Here are pics of the two:

I would just go with 35%.. Cops don't really notice tint on trucks as much as cars. I've got 20% all over my truck in a state where 50% is the legal tint and have never been bothered, but have friends with 35% on sedans that have gotten tint tickets.

This is what I always tell people. . . .
If you primarily do city driving; business lights, restaurants, and street lights are all around making the visibility fine at night.
You start rapidly decreasing your visibility when you get out of the city where there aren't any street lights, building lights, restaurants, other cars, etc..
