Are you sure the manifolds aren't warped? If they aren't and there are no other exhaust leaks, are you hearing the ticking of a plug about to blow out, what are the plugs torqued to?

The shop changed my plugs 21K miles ago and ive been hearing it ever since i got my truck around a year ago, i think mines a exhaust leak where the manifold connects to the cat but i dont know of a way to find out for sure

With the system cold take a bottle of very soapy water and spray it where you think the leak is. Then make the engine roll over a few times but not fire. This should push exhaust gases through the leak at cause bubbles if there is a leak.

I used our evap smoke machine at work to look for a leak. not a plug noise plugs are torqued to factory spec. possible manifolds are warped. thinking of doing shoty headers. so idk.

Factory torque spec is too low, thus leading to all the blowout problems. 28 ft/lbs dry is the best torque standard. That's nice to have the evap machine at your disposal to test.

Yea thats what i do, i just leave the radio on, dont take much noise to drown out the tick but its annoying when you hear it
