Throttle sticking.
Hello there. Has anyone had any issues with the throttle being extremely hard? I'm not sure if this could be a possible computer problem or if there's a grove in the rubber that protects the wire, or whichever possibility it is. Every two weeks or so I have to WD-40 down the wire to help it unstick. After three or so days it'll suddenly get hard again. When it is hard I have to put down a great deal of pressure on the pedal and when it does go the pedal goes to much so the RPMs go up quite high. This truck also idles at 950-1150 which is too high. I believe it's caused because of this stiff throttle. Is there a way of removing the throttle intact? When looking underneath the dash by the pedals it seems as if it can't come out as one piece.
I had two instances where the throttle on my truck "appeared" to get stuck and RPMs revved up over 3000. I have a 2012 F150 Lariat version and was very nervous -- especially the 2nd time it happened. I made sure it was NOT the floor mat or anything (like my foot slipping off the brake) else.
I took the truck to the dealer and they promptly put in a new throttle assembly. I have not had the problem again -- but was curious if anyone else with a 2012 Eco boost had experienced this issue.
Other than this, I have been VERY happy with my truck and have seen significant improvements in gas mileage over my 2001 F150 Lariat Supercrew.
