Default Throttle body question

Seen on another F150 forum about port polish and halfshaft a throttle body. What exactly does that do. Does it help in mpg or response or performance. Was curious may do it to mine. If it's worth it. It was on a V6 f150 forum. Since I got a V6 was think if it helps in any way cool it seem easy nuff nuff to do. So just asking to get info on it first if anyone has done it. Thanks for help.

Usually helps with airflow, less restriction which helps improve horsepower, and can increase fuel mileage. With that it would increase performance. I dont know how much, someone here probably has done this to their truck here, and could provide that info.

Some people would tell you not to bother with this because you have the V6, but if the gain is there and it will benifit the truck, then it would be worth it. I am assuming you are talking about the heads and intake.

I am talkin bout taking the throttle body off and apart and port and polish it. And then cut half of the shaft off that hold the throttle plate. Just wondering if worth doin or not. If I would notice any gains power or mpg whatsoever. Just and idea I was think of.
