Textured and Orange peal are way to similar lol. The Rockers where sort of textured already. It was actually a rock or chip guard from the factory which was applied through a gun. The first repair was the right rocker (Kenmore dryer) . Next repair was inside the transmission. This part was made from the Kenmores timer backer panel. Had to fab another as I modified the original poorly the first time around, -

That certainly looks familiar.

Looks like the TransGo plate. Nice job!

Correct! It was 18 years back, but that pick was of the original Transgo plate just before drilling out shift points larger. Went to big and second gear slammed way to hard.

Kenmore saved the day providing the ss material required to carve out another.

Brand new oven is in, as I mentioned earlier. I hooked it up, put it in place, then went outside. My Wife came home later and cleaned the glass top (It had a haze on it out of the box).

Sum8itc4in top has a big scratch in one spot, and pits in another. I'm gonna run over and show them the pics when they open. Not sure if these would have a long term effect?

EDIT: Forgot I took this pic to send her right after I pushed it into place.... you can see it looks like someone wiped it down at Whirlpool and it left a hazy look to it.

Their plates come pre-drilled in a lot of cases now.

Seriously white?

They did back then as well lol. They would have to be. These kits were used to improve slipping transmissions in case you're unaware...my truck would barely move forward. Yes, the 3 points pre drilled but at it's smallest at first. they provide drill bits to increase the diameter of the hole size to compensate for damage done to the trans. I guessed wrong and started to big. Once you go to big the plate is no good..following?

Shift kits can be used to repair. I got over 200,000 more miles out of that trans.

Are you getting it now...it was PITA remaking all those damn holes from scratch. The Kenmore had the metal.

OK, I was just wondering how you overdrilled it. We use them as they come, but the trans is new otherwise. I see what happened in your case now - over compensation.

Over compansated because I didn't want to do it twice and it slipped badly. My kit came with 2 more drill bits...I went for the largest right away and under the advisement at TCCOA. Bad move, it was redo the first time around. I shouldn't of touched the damn thing.

Unfortunately, I think we're all wrapped up for building transmissions. Today is the open house for Ron's house. We're supposed to go through what he's got for parts, cores, etc. I'm gonna go grab the T5 stuff for sure, and he's already told me he's going to give me some 4R70 stuff. He's not sure how much room he'll have for parts going clear across the country.
