Leaving for Idaho in the morning... I guess right now is a good time to look the car over.

That was weird... there has been an ever-so-slight clunk in the front end, and slight wandering. Felt like bad ball joints. The ball joints are solid, however. However, there was a really light clunk on the drivers side. Long story short, the CV nut had backed out about 1/2 turn. I retorqued it to 221 again, and it's a happy camper.

How does a 221 foot pound nut back out?

Only thing I can think is if the CV was sitting off kilter - but doesn't make sense though. It wasn't loose by hand, but fairly easy to spin with my torque wrench. I did a video of the install. Not sure which side I did in the video (maybe both) but I'm gonna go have a look at the footage and see if there is anything wonky.

Does it have a integrated concave washer?

Nut's that come w/CV's are junk sometimes. Better off w/new factory or correct type OEM.

Am I missing something here lol.

Oh you have a video ?

Yes, it's the factory style. In fact, might be the factory nut. Maybe I should put a different nut on it?

Prob suppose to replace those once removed.

Like caliper bracket bolts.

That's the only single use hardware in that area AFAIK.

Damn... the video is the passenger side. But I did them about 3 days apart... identically. Go to 19:20 and you'll see that the "220-221 whatever it takes" is a pretty good whaling.

Oh damn... I did the drivers side video too. Go to 22:20 in this one. Definitely re-used the old nut.
