Ohio, I did the same thing. I work closely with some members of the older population and was not willing to risk their health. I will wear a mask when asked to but I'm not ok with being told by the CDC, who's word has become law, that I have to wear a mask outdoors away from other people.

Lol! Yeah, that goes a little beyond reasonable and necessary.

I chose to get vaccinated. Only about half of the people I work with chose to get vaccinated. So at work we are wearing masks again. However, (for now) the state left it up to county's and city's to evaluate and issue any guidelines based on numbers, etc. The SL school district starts school on the 24th, no masks required. My bet it 2 weeks in kids are back home like last year.

GR, I can't get onboard with the fear **** of all the different variants. If we are already at lambda then this will out evolve any vaccine schedule we can hopefully roll out.

White, you are probably right about the kids getting sent home again. I am curious that if covid moves through kids like chicken pox if they will carry a lifelong immunity afterwards. Honestly your kids are learning so much more practical knowledge at home.

My wife is an ICU nurse and she caught covid at the end of last July and we both had Delta back in June of this summer. We have been vaccinated since March so that was unexpected. I missed work, not of my own accord, for the first time since I had my surgeries a couple of years ago. Not a good time. Lol

B117 (Alpha) was no picnic to go through!
I read it has the most severe symptoms from all the variant thus far.
This "lambda" variant supposedly is worse than them all and it's vaccine proof.

Hey, how long do you think I'm covered for with immunity ?
some labs tell you the exact level of immunity with specific antibody numbers.
The lab I used just says "reactive". Meaning there are sufficient levels for immunity.

So that puts a lot of ppl in a current bracket that will need 3 shots. Alot of countries have ordered "boosters" till 2025. What does that tell us?
sounds like there could very well be a shot bi annually or annually at the very least.
I'll be the first one in line for a booster.

What about your vitamin D status, have you tested it ?
There's nurses and medical professionals who take 5000 i.u. daily of vit d for years and they were exposed to covid and never caught it.
You need 2500-3000 iu. daily to just cover the body's basic daily requirement.
