Thinking

A guy in one of the departments brought me a PC that he deemed as "possible junk". I fired it up... it has an i7, 16GB DDR4 RAM, Intel MoBo, three 250GB hybrid drives, 3 HDMI outs, and it has Win 7 Enterprise. It has become my coding/testing PC, and I also use it to do HDD cloning.
EDIT: It has taken me a long time to arrive at this, but Windows 10.... although it has its quirks, it is a much better OS than I've given it credit for. It's got some things I don't care for, but overall - it's pretty solid.

It's such a goofy belt setup... you have to REALLY pry on the alternator to tighten the belt. I think it puts a lot of pressure on that pump, and it might be changing the sound to when the belt is on it. I ordered a new Gates pump for it tonight. Should be here Friday.

Yea, but the bearing SHOULD be isolated from that kind of pressure. But heck, you know how cheap they make some stuff nowadays.

Running out of snacks over here, had to settle for a bowl of lucky charms.

It is a REALLY rinky dink setup. People complain about belt squeal on these all the time.

Opinions please..... do you think this water pump noise is what is causing my grind/whine noise when it is running? The videos of each are merged....

Isn't a turnbuckle like arm available to replace the alternator bracket?

Now an XLT in Colorado
Sounds like a new pump is a good idea to me.
Router question: My Asus RT-AC66U router started dropping and reconnecting devices with a high degree of incident, both wired and wireless. I performed a factory reset and modified only enough settings to get it back to functioning, with no improvement. I'm going to call Asus, but if I can't get the problem fixed, I'll be looking for a replacement. I'd like to stick with a budget of about $150. No gaming or high-load file transfers, just standard home use (internet surfing, Netflix, music streaming, video camera look-ins, etc.) and remote office use. I'm considering the RT-AC86U. Any other (better) options I should consider?
