Default temp gauge not working

I have recently changed out the CHT, EHT, and the thermostat. I used Motorcraft parts. Now my temperature gauge does not work at all.
Engine runs great, engine, radiator work like they should. check the resistance of both sensors and they check out. Can someone please help me with this, i am disabled and would rather not get stranded roadside.
Thanks in advance for your response oh it is a 1998 f150 with the 4.6l W, Auto trans.

If a scan tool displays the temperature then it's just the physical gauge. If it doesn't then it's something else

Check the harness at the bend close to the sensor. The copper can separate inside the insulation.

Btw, that's ECT. Not EHT.

Good Luck

My son grounded the pins on the sensor connector and the gauge jumped straight to hot. So I'm pretty sure the wiring is ok. Oh and I don't know why I put "EHT" my bad.

I'm going to close this thread out by letting everyone know that the temp gauge runs off of a coolant temperature sender not a sensor
I got a NGK sender form Oreilly's and problem was fixed. Sorry didn't get part # off the box.
Thanks for the help guys!
