hi guys. so im gonna clean my throttle body tomorrow and besides tb cleaner and proper tools, will i need new gaskets? also any tips for a rookie on this?

 

8mil socket , toothbrush, papertowls/clothrags,

 

If you're taking it off the engine get new gaskets.

 

okay i know i need the tb itself gasket.....which others do i need

 

Remove anything electronic and foam the crap out of. That's what I do.

 

okay, the gasket is 25 bucks so i'm just gonna clean it carefully with it still attached....i'll grab the gasket on payday and take it off and clean it right.

 

Wish I could manage my money like that...wait till payday. Usually if i need something and it's under a few hundred bucks I'll buy it without hesitation.

 

Well, i just took my air assembly off and got a look at my throttle body....holy cow, i don't even know if there's any sense cleaning what i can reach....when i opened the throttle up and looked inside it's pretty caked in there....has to come off and be cleaned bad!!!my ports are no doubt partially plugged.
