I scheduled mine in today. I'm glad this came out before I started rhino lining the undercarriage I would have replaced them out of my own pocket. I basically goning to replace every rusted piece under the truck....needless to say i think I'm gonna have to take the front end apart and take the bed off at least lol...it's gonna be a long project

"not washing your vehicle" "vehicles rust" both right. BUT , why do older trucks tanks not fall off? Gee, think maybe Ford used some inferior parts in these years, duh . How hard can it be to figure that out. And as far as someone getting something for nothing. Tell that to my 72 year old mother who's tank fell off going down the road in her 2001 f150. I love Ford and I think it is great that they admit the problem and are fixing it. Any company can get bad parts that they use, happens all the time. At least they are standing behind their trucks.

Just got my tank straps replaced today. Made my appointment monday for 15:30 and was in and out by 16:15. Didnt take long to do at all but then again they weren't very busy.

for those of you without this problem, I'm up north and mine are terrible, my gas tank has a aircraft cable strap as the rear strap and the issue caused a leak in my gas tank, the metal straps just disappear and flake away.
