well its been a year since i picked up my 1997 XLT 4x4. Been a great truck, has 107,000 miles on it now. Its was bone stock when i bought it and i added:
-thrust welded muffler exit infront of pass rear tire
-lighning headlights and corners
-lund chrome grille
-ventshades
-trifecta tonneau cover
-k&n filter
-cranked stock torsion bars
-33" firestone destination M/T's

Truck looks great. I always liked the combination of bright red and alloy silver and chrome and the contrast of silver/alloy and big tires. If you try to paint the wheels black and start blacking out the chrome, I think you would ruin a great looking truck. The new headlights and the grille really add a lot.
