Has anyone put the 2009-2011 F150 tailgate emblem on their 97-03 F150?
It does not look like it will sit flush based on some pics I've seen. If you have done this, let me know how it worked out (pics would be awesome).

 

you need to get the emblem that fits the flareside tailgate. the flareside tailgate doesn't have the groves in it and is flat so the emblem will be flush. thats what i have on mine.

 

I have a 98 Flareside and have put the new emblems on. The only hitch I had was the tailogate. You must use the 2009's. This is the last year of the Flareside model. This emblem is flat on the back and works on our tailgates. The 2010 emblem is made to sit in a recessed area on the new model tailgates and would take some work to get it to lay flat. Order up the 2009 emblems and you should be fine. The only thing I would caution you about is that there is very little clearance between the edges of the new style emblems and existing holes in the fenders and tailgate. Take your time and measure things out and it will work fine, I dont have pictures but I will see what I can do. You will not refret it, it looks great!!!
