I'm a little pissed right now. I want to replace my tailgate straps to make sure they can handle the load of my quad, and they are discontinued!!!

Seriously??? So what the hell are you supposed to do when one breaks? It's not like this is a classic!

 

Perhaps some dealers would still have some stock? I know in Canada they can do a search and see if any other dealer has some, and get them shipped to them. I would think it would be the same stateside. We have found some pretty obscure parts for our old Fords in our fleet this way. Even on discontinued items.

 

Thanks. That's a good idea. I'll have to stop down to the local dealership soon. I just can't believe they would stop making a part for such a common vehicle. I mean, it's a simple strap. Just like all the other straps, but a different length.

 

Ford is starting to discontinue a few parts for these trucks; I've been told that from the dealer. Junkyards are always a good start. Obviously aren't new, but you still can ghet some good parts for cheap.

 

Wish I had known that in '11 when I got it.

Most things you can find aftermarket, anyway. But tailgate straps for my truck are hard to find. The parts stores kept trying to sell me fleet side straps, and they don't fit.

 

Have you not tried AutoZone, Orielly's, Advanced? I know AutoZone can get them both for about $22 in my area. My buddy just replaced them on his '02.

 

You could try super duty ones they might fit

 

You talking about the cables maybe? Only thing I can think of. Yea, they're a dime a dozen. Well, not exactly, but you can get them just about ANYWHERE. No reason to get upset IMO.

 

Try LMC TRUCKS. They have about everything for these Trucks.
