Default tachometer question

Got a 1997 f150 with the 4.6, tachometer seems to only work when it wants to or sits around 500rpm. Can get the needle to junp around if i tap on the glass but wont stay. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'd guess the tach itself is the issue.

The good news is, 97 and 98's have plug and play clusters.

How hard is it to open the cluster and adjust the mileage? I wouldn't mind getting a cluster with a tach, as long as it's plug and play. But I would want to carry over the mileage so everything is still accurate.

We specialize in speedometers and are a vendor here. If you want to keep your mileage, just swap over your MPH assembly to the new replacement cluster.

77....I have 3 clusters apart on my bench. I have anything you need for your tach, including the back printed circuit. Here are pictures of the cluster and the tach motor. It comes apart in sections, so if you haven't torn it apart before, this might help you, The white face is just to show it all comes off as one assembly with the clear panel it is attached to. If you need them PM me. I hate to throw things away.

Thank you sir. He can have them for the cost of postage. At least someone will get some use out of one.

On the wheels that we discussed $50 plus shipping. I would think 2 per box, about 50# a box, so I'll check SLC zip and see how much to ship them. I would like to put your cap centers in there also, and whatever else I have written down for this spring.
