IMO it would be to big of a job I would just buy a 4x4. But you can do anything you want if u put ur mind to it. U would have to put a torsion bar cross member in change out you upper and lower control arms and spindles put wheel hubs off s 4 wheel drive in. Your best bet would be a front end out an all wheel drive expedition so u wouldnt have to worry about a way of locking the front end In and out. Then a 4x4 trans and tcase and rear and front drive shaft and of corse the front axles. A Manual lock in tcase. (one with a lever) and if the front cross member the front end bolts to is there if not u have to get one and make it fit. If I'm missing anything people correct me this is just off the top of my head. Thanks.

The front frame sections are completely different. It would be easier and faster to SAS your 2wd.

It all depends on what trans and transfer case you use as different front axles have pass side pumpkins and some are driver side. the transfer case is the same way some send the drive shaft on the pass side some on the driver

Then I would have to match the front and rear axles right?
