suspension grime?

Default suspension grime?

Is my suspension supposed to look like this? Or can I clean it? Idk if it's supposed to be like that to stay lubed up and whatever.... I just wanna take a pressure washer to it and clean the **** out of it... And yes I know I have a broken CV boot and a worn out shock and a loose link pin.

You can clean it. I recently wire brush and wire wheeled mine and put some por 15 semi gloss black rust preventative on it. Looks better than new.

I imagine the torn boot is the reason for the grime. It certainly not some sort of designed lubrication. Grease spraying out and collecting muck on everything around it. Fix the boot. pressure wash the grime.

Should I get some sort of cv extender? Because I'm lifted 2 inches and I'm noticing it's at a little bit too harsh of an angle...

I know nothing about lifting trucks. But just thinking about it, I can't imagine lifting would take the angle of the joint out of it's operational range. I believe there are split boot kits you can get to fix it. I normally just R&R the shaft since they are cheap.

That grime is 100% from the torn cv boot, a front torsion bar lift will affect the cv angles and cause boots to rip, mines leveled and both cv joints tore within 1k of the lift.

How high did you crank them? I've never had that issue. Then again the most I'll level is an inch which doesn't add much stress at all.

Just replace that boot so you don't ruin your CV's.

agree just replace it. If the lift causes it to rip every 50k-100k miles who cares.
