Say I'm coasting at around 15 or 20 and I hit the gas lightly as soon and the revs go up a little like as soon as the truck speeds up I feel a clunk and I've been wondering what the issue is. It's a 5.4 and its a 4x4 with 247,000 or so miles on it. (odometer hasn't worked in a few weeks needs resoldered) it also feels like it's from the front of the truck not the back.

May be the u joint. Even though the joint is in the back,it usually feels like the clunk is in the front. Mine normally feels like something hitting the floor board.

maybe. I just wanted a second opinion about it. I'm pretty sure it has the factory ones on it.

someone is not installing u joints correctly... Lol how you break 6 in 16,000 miles??? You going first to reverse hard or something? Dang I have broke 1 and it was wore out but I kept driving it till it slung a drive shaft. Needless to say after backing up to get the drive shaft... It was broke.. I was mad... Left doing a front wheel burnout haha. Poor ole truck was so miss treated... Only pic I have of it now.

I have lost three drive shafts also! One to a failing u joint, one to the axle falling off and one I just stomped the gas going up hill and it twisted the shaft into 2 pieces. I'm just hard on the truck lol

Well I found the clunk after all this time.. A bolt wasn't put in on one of the skid plate straps. Put one on and the clunk is gone.
