Stirring damper mountain snapped in half while girlfriend came down into storage in Anaheim, California
(My Cardinal Red 1999 Ford F-150 Lariat 4X4 5.4L V8 2 valve) This is the second time it's happened. the first time my buddy welded another quarter inch or Half inch piece of steel same thickness as the mount. I thought for sure that that's where it would break again but the world held it up intact and it snapped again just further towards The opening where it bolts app to the frame. everything else is intact except for that 1 place where it snapped. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so what was your corrected action. I personally say that I should just take it to a 4 wheel drive shop I have them order a part and install it properly but because of my financial situation my kind of wanted to have my body rewelled it in place with a thick plate a skill on there like before since it held up perfectly.

Weld it and find out why it broke
Most likely needs a longer shock for the lift kit
More info and photos, a zoomed out picture is needed
What steel is that?
Add another plate(s) to weld on top or on both sides of it, or get a new one
That is not much metal to weld to right now

 

Well I had a welded in a couple extra angles add in there for extra support. I'll post a picture when I get the chance. Seems to be working totally fine now.
