Default Spindles

I'm in the process of pricin' different mods out and creatin' a "To Do list" and the only thing I'm stuck on is a spindle lift for the ole gal.

I've seen 'em rangin' anywhere from $50 to $500. My budget right now is $3,000 but I'm tryin' to reserve most of that for tires/wheels, replacin' the entire front suspension along with rear shocks, and a general tune up. I certainly don't wanna skimp out on quality but can't drop a lot on a lift unless I save up for a few more months.

Any recommendations on brands that I could research will help me out, thanks.

I appreciate it. I just want enough space to clear 285's, she's runnin' 275/60/17 right now.

No worries. If that's all you need then a 1.5" spacer up front will get you there. BlakeA on here has that setup and will have pictures and all.

I have actually seen his setup, just never really considered spacers. I've always heard that spindles were the way to go for 2wd's, and with the amount that I drive I'd need somethin' that ain't gonna wear out the front end quickly. I'll definitely research 'em though.

If you just want to fit 285s a Daystar 1.5" spacer and a one inch block in the rear will make it perfectly level and might save a little money. That's how mine is right now.

Spindles will keep the factory angles and may save some wear on your front suspension in the long run though.

That's my main concern. If it ain't much of a difference in wear, then a spacer and block is definitely what I'll go with. I'm always okay with savin' money!

I mainly went with them because I thought 3" was way too high to go on a 2wd truck. My truck still sits lower than a 4x4 with the bars turned up.
As far as wear and tear I'll have to get back to you on that in 100,000 miles or so.
