Default Speed

I want some speed in my 98 f150 except its a v6 what do I do?! Would a a chip work?

A Phoenix chip is the only real chip out there, but a programmer is much better. Look into the SCT x3 because it's the only custom tunable device.

Leave it alone. No matter what you do to it, it wont make you happy. You would be putting way to much money into it with not enough result. sorry to burst your bubble.

dont want to sound harsh but its the reality, if u wanted speed should of gotten a sports car.. a truck is a pain in the wallet to make it fast.. good luck

The V6 isn't a great power platform. The V8's are much better and you will spend nearly $4000 upgrading the V6 to perform like a tuned V8. That's almost the cost of an engine swap nowadays. For what many people want, the V6 is underpowered (which is okay) but most importantly doesn't make anywhere near enough torque for what it should and what many people want to use it for. Great light duty engine but not fast and not really great for towing (it does ok but some smaller I4's and V6's do better). Trucks aren't meant to be fast, they are built to do work unless it is something like a Lightning or SRT10 (Mopar) equipped truck but are still slow compared to lesser equipped cars.
