One 12 is normally not better than two 10s. You sure you'll get better performance switching?

not really sure...my buddy had one 12 in his hd ed. and it bumped way harder than mine with 2 tens...just kinda came up on the speaker brand new...roomate didnt have rent money so i repoed his sub ha ha...still in the box from rockford just kinda checkin out options...i like how the two under the seat looks tho...you get a system with out loosin your seat...dont think that will happen with a twelve...just kinda tired of the shallow mount sound ya know

I could see you wanting more with two shallow 10s. What about doing a seat lift? Gets expensive, though.

LMI welding makes a seat lift kit. You should find some pics if you search for it.

I know this wont be your first choice but i have a single 10 running on 400W and it sounds amazing.

I have the larriat interior and the driver side back seat folds down to expose a metal shelf type thing.. i made a custom box to fit in there perfectly and just placed it in there and it makes my 10 pump for some reason. (i dont know if your back seat does that)

The man i bought the truck off of put his on the floor in between the drives seat and the passenger seat but that wont allow you to have a very big box or for the sound to resonate as well.

I guess if I didn't have OCD about my truck, I'd put them in a box standing up on it's edge with the rear drivers side seat folded out. But I like for it to look factory on the inside and would prefer the box to be hidden under the rear seat. I wouldn't mind raising my rear seat about 2" either, it'll still look clean.

I'm curious about this thread too because all of the boxes I've found on the internet say they have .7 Cu. Ft. per sub, but most of the slim fit subs I'm finding say they need at least .8.

Will it really make that much of a difference if it's short less than a 10th of a cubic foot?

What combos are everyone else running in their 97-99's?

its not all about the sub its about the box and having it tuned correctly find the model and such along with what the sub is tuned at probly 40-60 somewhere in that range and then look for a box tuned to that
