Motorcraft Platinum's are nothing to write home about.
NGK gave me way better performance and noticeable increase in fuel mileage though....and those were the G Power plugs !
So I'm moving up to Ruthenium NGK....
2000 4.6 V8 here as well.
Want to see what all the hype is about.

Thanks for the update. I have purchased the motorcraft plugs for now. As soon as the rain ends I am pulling the engine to do a complete rebuild. Runs ok but 288.000 miles on it.

Motorcraft's are ok as long as you change them every couple yrs.
How often do you change them ?

Your truck has 288 000 miles on it ? wow!
any rust !
how's the transmission ?

No rust. Transmission is good except overdrive. Im rebuilding that as well as the engine. Had purchased the truck to resale but have decided to keep it now. I live in Central North Carolina and rust isn't a major issue here.paints good. Interior is good except for a couple of cigarette burn's from the previous owner.

with a body like that, fix it!
You don't want to get involved with new computerized vehicles imo….

Motorcrafts are the only plugs to put in the modular motors. I've experimented too much with other "premium" brands. It is well known that other plugs fail prematurely in these.

They won't last long in modular motors.
