Default Spark plug wires

2000 F-150 5.4L- Time to replace wires, just curious what kind of brands you'd recommend????

your truck doesnt have wires... it has indiviudal coil packs per cylinder... they can run anywhere 50-75 or from what i see... i wouldnt replace them unless u need to or have the extra cash... or if u find the whole set dirt cheap new on a site

Ah i see now, I have to replace plugs, which as we know is a pain. I figured I'd replace wires when I did plugs, but as you pointed out they are coils, all I had to do is look, I feel stupid now..my bad

haha nah its honest mistake.. the plugs on out truck aint as bad as the 04-09.... ill give u a hint... take all the coil packs off and spray pb blaster into them all and let sit for 15 mins then crack each one an 1/8 turn.. and spray more in... and let sit for a15 mins... then just be easy remobving them

yeah haha like i said bbe careful... even if u loosen them then tighten them and keep mspraying them do soo the penetrating oil is ur friend... i mean when u start the truck shes gunna smoke for a bit but its worth it... better than snapped a plug off... lol

also what plugs are you running... i recommend motorcraft ones.. these motors are finicky when it comes to plugs...

haha ok will do! Im usin the motorcraft PZT14F platinum, spark plugs. I got them at the dealership a few weeks ago.

ahhh goood hahaha well i wish u luck.... if by any chance u u get a CEL from the pb run the truck a for abit then disconnect the battery... i did a truck at work and the CEL came on and i was like wtf... but it was just the pb in the cylinder buring..

Just popping in, make sure to use plenty of anti-seize on the new plugs and lots and lots of dielectric grease everywhere else. That way the plugs are easy to remove the next time you want to replace them, and water doesn't get in and mess up your connections.
