All this makes me lol when I read about spark plug tq... I'm glad Y'all are doing things legit... I change the plugs in the Harley about every 3-4 months and I have never used my tq wrench for spark plugs. Mains, yes, heads, yes, but spark plugs... Just tighten them up, and not gorilla tight, or spitting plug loose!

Just sayin' carry on, damn you BL

Note: the torque rating is inch-pounds. Not foot-pounds. U have to convert.

Guys, I think you have to be careful with accepting the facts presented on this website. 27 ft-lbs is way too tight. Hopefully you didn't distort the threads in the head.

Ford recommends 9-20 newton-meters and that is what Alldata lists. That converts to 6.64-14.75 ft-lbs or 79.65-177 in-lbs. which is close to Chilton's 84-168 in-lbs. (7-14 ft-lbs). So your original 14 ft-lb information was correct.

Im going to have to agree with you... It was honestly kind of scary how loose some of those plugs were... They feel way better now that i did them at 27ft/lbs, and it felt like i could have tightened them more so i dont think there destorting any threads
