Default Spacers

Are spacers useful for anything except moving your tires out further? If I put 2 inch spacers on my truck what parts would need to be replaced as a precautionary measure to insure I won't break an axle of something else?

They're useful if your trying to achieve wider stance. Ball joints and hubs will go faster with any amount of extra stress applied to them. Here comes all the people talking about how spacers are bad, don't mind most of them.. I hope you bought quality spacers and know the ins and outs of how to properly use them.

Ain't brought any yet I was wondering if they would help at all with clearing larger tires. I brought a 3 inch lift and wanted to run 33x12.50 and on a 2wd I was told I had to run spacers to help with clearance but I didn't believe that so I asked here

No they won't, you'll rub different places. The only time they'd help is if you were close to clearing the outsides of the fenders and spacers put you outside. They'll make it worse

Depends on what wheels your going to run with the tires too

Boy... I don't know that I believe that. I'm no physics major, but it seems like clearance would be worse to me. You are pushing the tire out further, making the fender closer to the center of the tire. Black_on_White can correct me if I'm wrong, but that just doesn't seem right to me.

Are you sure that by "spacers", the individual wasn't talking about a body lift?

That's why I came here. I was just asking it doesn't logically make sense to me and spacers are just moving the tire outwards and I don't see how it could help with clearance at all.

You don't need anything but the 3" spindle to clear 33/12.50

Depends on his wheels. Offset wheels would cause issues

I came across some Harley Davidson wheels for very cheap along with some nice mud tires. $300 for rims and $125 for tires
