Default Something is wrong with my truck.

Okay well today when i was coming home from school i lowered the volume on my stereo before arriving. I could hear the truck make it's usual engine noise and then, it would make this little noise that sounded like i was braking really slowly. It was like the brakes screech. When i got home i looked under my truck and saw all of this black gunk in some parts of it. I took 2 pictures of some main parts where it is. I wanted to take more pictures but there is these drug dealing ganstah's two blocks from my house and they are outside in their front patio. (I didn't want to start any **** by having them think i'm taking pictures of them.) I'll add more pictures of the gunk later. Does anyone know what's wrong? Or what is needed to be done?
Thanks.
~Hector

From the first picture and the picture of the fluid I'd guess you've got a brake line that is leaking.

I agree with above poster - pop the cap off your master cylinder and see how the level is

If it's brake fluid, you really should not drive it until it's fixed.

With that said, I agree that it's probably your brake fluid especially if your stopping ability severely decreased. Did you just recently get the truck? If so, did you inspect or have it inspected? When you open the brake fluid reservoir cap, is it low, does it have a funny odor or color?

What is the current oil, tranny fluid, and brake fluid level at? Where does the leak appear to be coming from?

It looks to be clear (from what I can tell) so i don't think it's oil or tranny fluid.

The first picture is the tranny bellhousing and that oil is engine oil from the color that is on the driveway. It would be tranny oil if it was reddish in color. Go up on top of the engine and look underneath the intake manifold to the large cavity formed by the engine block, is it full of oil? Reports say head gaskets will leak there and eventually overflow and run down and leak off the bellhousing.

Hector, sounds like you have a brake hose or line thats leaking. Easy way to check for where the leak is. Block your wheels, climb under and have a friend lightly apply some brake. You should be able to see it leak. May just be a simple hose change or a new section of brake line. Also brake fluid has its own smell, and you need to clean all that off from under there. Brake fluid eats paint and will cause corrosion.
