Default Silencer removal

I have heard this term being used in exhaust threads and was wondering what it was and where the silencers found?

It's the intake silencer on these trucks, quiets the air going into the throttlebody. Pull it out of the intake tube when you do the Gotts mod and it should breathe much better.

Well you need the external one. Otherwise whatever gets under the hood (water, leaves, sand, stones) could be sucked into the engine and that wouldn't be very good as you'll most likely destroy the engine. But other than helping get a slight more amount of air into it, taking it off wont help anything, especially your exhaust.

Putting a new pipes, muffler, cats and headers will change how your exhaust sounds if that's what you're going for.

I was talking to browing about the gotts and silencer. I know you have to have the main one for the intake
