Side Window Adhesive

Side Window Adhesive
Couple of questions.
Sunday morning the truck was frosted over and when I went to roll down the window I heard a popping sound and the motor ran to the bottom while the glass stayed in place.
I was able to pull the door panel and get the window back into the clips and got the window rolled up. However now when I roll the window down, it gets about halfway down now the glass pops out of the clips again.
I touched the adhesive that is in the clips and I think it is just not sticking to the window anymore and I need to reglue it.
My questions are:
1) What is the best way get the old adhesive out?
2) What should I use as adhesive to get the window to stay in the clip?
Any help is apprecitated.

I fought with that in my Dodge until the day I sold it. Tried every thing I could find, probably 5 different times.
. Problem was I couldn't get the glass out to clean it and get a good seal with the glue I kept trying. Had to remember to push the window down with my hand as it went down or else it would come loose again.
I'd call a local glass repair shop and have them fix it right. Pay a little more, but do it once.
