Has anyone attempted to take side mirrors from the newer trucks or vans and put them on 97-03 F150's? And is it possible?

 

Lots of modding to make them fit properly.

 

If you are wanting super duty style tow mirrors I would recommend picking up a set of the F150 tow mirrors on ebay. They bolt right up an look good.

No, I dont remember who the guy was that posted it either, otherwise I would say just ask him. I think he just cut off the plastic to get it to fit and you have to cut a new hole for the mounting bolts and get the wires in the right order to fit the new connector.

 

Do the eBay tow mirrors fit as tight as the factory ones? Rattle? Really want a set, but if they rattled it would drive me insane!

 

I don't notice any rattle with mine. They do shake a little but thats expected with something hanging out that far.

And those extend, if I'm not mistaken. Thin rubber strips (adhesive on one side) might do the trick. Getting those aftermarket ones on Ebay is a lot easier than modding the new mirror assembly for the '97-'03 plugs in the doors.
