Walk away... You are in over your head. The quadrajet and holly are two different carbs. I like the Holley better but can make a quadrabog get decent mileage too
Stick with what you have or go with something newer unless you have disposable cash.
I would love an old truck to work on but I do not have the disposable income. If its a project you don't have to rely o. To get you around, that's cool. You can learn a lot about the older technology but don't rely it unless you got a back up or know carbs, and old ignition systems front and back.
