Default short squeeling when startup.

What would cause a squeeling noise on startup on a 5.4. It just does it when I go to start it then stops

Your belt is going out. Just take a look at it. Look for cracks and small chunks missing.

You just had the belt replaced 2-3 months ago? Then it wasn't tensioned down enough. Give the belt tensioner pulley bolt another 1/4 or 1/2 turn. There's a write up some where to check belt deflection. There's also a tool for it.

Check belt tension-if OK, remove the belt and spin all pulleys by hand and feel for excess drag. If not enough tension on belt-replace the tensioner.
