Default Which Shocks??

I am at the point where I either need to put some money into my truck or get rid of it. Since it is in great shape I think it's time to change the shocks. My question is, do I go the cheap route and get Pro Comp ES9000's or SkyJackers, or spend more and get Bilsteins? The truck is a 99 F250LD. I think the Bilstein 5100 are for lifted trucks though. I guess that means i would need the yellow ones. Any better or cheaper places to shop?

The 5100's are an adjustable shock for leveling.

Do they replace a leveling kit? My truck is stock ride height. I thought about a level kit but not sure I want to stress the front end components. I am not cranking the t-bars.

Are the Bilstein 4600 worth it over the ProComps?

The 5100's are used in place of a leveling spacer...they are adjustable for what height you want...your year truck may not be able to use them if you have T-Bars...not sure on that ...

I have some Monroe Gas Magnum shocks they were about $200 for all four, but they're great shocks! They come in yellow so I painted them red, but overall they are an incredible shock and the truck rides 10x better.

I replaced mine with Skyjacker Nitro 8000 from autoanything.com for $150 with free shipping. Great shocks, smooth ride, great control and cornering stability. They handle well offload. Highly recommended.

The Nitro's are a nice shock and so are the Bilstein's, but it really depends on your price range? We are having a sale on Gabriel and Rancho right now too!
